Dr. Eric Griesshaber has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 10 years. His special interests include internal medicine, dentistry, and general surgery.
Dr. Griesshaber grew up with a strong desire to become a veterinarian after developing a close bond with his family’s German Shepherd, Hilde. He grew up in the San Jose area, attended Leigh High School, and volunteered helping orphaned and injured wildlife as a teenager. He was accepted and attended U.C. Davis as an undergraduate in Animal Science and the U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. During his time in veterinary school, he focused on companion animals such as dogs, cats and birds. Penny, a Husky Rottweiler cross, came into Dr. Eric’s life during junior surgery. Dr. Griesshaber performed Penny’s spay surgery and soon after she was adopted from the Sacramento SPCA. She quickly became Dr. Eric’s faithful running partner.
After graduating from U.C. Davis in 1998, Dr. Eric worked in a busy multi-doctor hospital from 1998 to 2002. In 2002, he had the opportunity to purchase Portola Valley Veterinary Clinic (PVVC). He practiced and managed PVVC from 2002 to 2007, where he and his team brought the practice up to AAHA standards and gained AAHA accreditation in 2005. In 2007, he acquired and began practicing at Acadia Veterinary Clinic in Cupertino, CA.
Dr. Eric enjoys spending time with his sons, working-out at the gym, obstacle course mud runs, coaching youth soccer, go-kart racing and listening to live and recorded rock, classical and jazz.
